Flower Photography
It’s all about flowers with me this weekend! I’m not quite sure why. Maybe it’s the resources from my mum and my neighbours garden, or maybe it’s from my longing for the summer that we never had and now Autumn is well on it’s way, so all the pretty colourful blooms will be fading away to reveal the rusty, murky, earthy autumn colours. Perhaps, it’s simply because I think flowers are both beautiful to look at and so complex, yet simple.
Anyway, I took so many photos that I thought I’d display them in a little blog post. Below are some of my photography edits from the past 48 hours photographs. I have edited them all in photoshop in one way or another, so if you want some further information on this, I’ll break it down in another post.

A photo of my neighbours Dahlia Flower. I added a vintage wash to it and merged it with a complementary Pastel texture.
The same Dahlia with a slightly different look. I kept it very close to the original phto as I liked the composition and the colour.
I’m not sure what this flower is. I snapped it today in my mums back garden. I took it for my daily flickr challenge. The theme was “closed”. So, I made sure to have the closed bud as the focal point. I love these colours together.
This is probably my favourite photo because of the light airy feel, the water droplets, the flower shape, the liliac colour and the position of the flower in the photo. I added a vintage wash to it and also a lavender toned texture.
My mum was torturing me to snap her hollyhock plant. I could think of no better way than to snap it up close!!! The petal remind me of tulle fabrice. I added a light grunge and pink texture to it and just loved it like that.
Another Dahlia photo with a vibrant watercolour edit!
I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at my flower photography. You can view more of my photos on my flickr account or purchase on my redbubble account.
