Web Design
Switch viewA great finish to the year and new beginnings in 2012
Don’t worry about reading this drivel! It’s merely a venting blog post… I’m breathing out the old and breathing in the new!
2011 was a memorable year for me. It started off topsy turvey and if anything, pretty miserable. I had a lot of personal dramas that were eating away at me and if anything the start to the year felt very stagnant. However, I battled my way through it and overcame many niggles, (some of which I wont go in to), only to reveal a second half of the year that was rewarded by hard work and determination. I chose to tackle the main things bothering me in my life in order to turn them around for the better!
Coping with a Hectic Schedule
So, as promised to you. My post after work, after work…
Do you ever just get periods of time when everything is just fine, dandy and A-O.K. You savour your days, walk along breezily, enjoy the finer things in life… Then slowly, you make plans, set goals, things come up and before you know it, everything explodes like a Volcano infront of you and all hell breaks loose!
From web to mobile
Well, I’m currently editing this post as a follow up to my previous one! However, I have a mountain of things to do this eve, so I will come back and edit this hopefully tomorrow. In the meantime, here are a few screenshots of the website and the mobile version (currently only enabled for iphone) of the website using jquery mobile…
I have also added a few links that I found incredibly useful to begin the process through to finish. I hope you find these links as useful as I did.

So, to fill you in a little more about my full time employment. After graduating in 2006 with a first class (honours) in Multimedia Computing and Design, I have been working as a Web Designer and Graphic Designer in the Finance Industry. My employer is McCambridge Duffy; specialists in debt help, but we run and maintain quite a few other debt related websites. My day job involves editing sites, graphic design both for advertising and print and SEO among other various things.
So, to get to the point of this post. I love a challenge. The other day I finshed one of my most recent projects. I finished creating an iphone version our debt advice website to enhance the iphone user experience. It was a new project, so I was pleased to follow it through to the end. If you have an iphone just go to our website and you will be redirected there. I will post some screenshots of it later in the week.
In order to implement our new iphone version (and soon android version too) I used jquery mobile! And I have to say:
JQuery Mobile = The business
I will post some links to the great tutorials and resources I used along with the screenshots later in the week, so stay tuned if creating a mobile site is something you are interested in.
Summer Treat
So summer is upon us and here in Ireland, it hasn’t been much of a summer as of yet. It’s been more of a “4seasons in a day” affair. But we don’t let that dampen our spirits. Sandals, ice-cream and shorts in 14 degree weather with rain plopping on our heads and bucket and spade in hand takes us to the beautiful grey beaches along the coast.
I recently did a re-vamp for a local ice-cream site, Joe Jacksons who pride themselves in making delicious ice cream cakes. What better way to spend your summer birthday in Ireland, than defiantly gorgeing on ice cream cake in the comfort of your home garden party under the sun/rain umbrella. If you’re looking to order one just pop on over to Joe Jacksons website and place your ice cream cake order there.
Come on! Join the revolution and get down and party with that ice cream.
And don’t forget, if you like what you see n the website and need some of my services yourself, just give me a shout :
Here’s Johnny (Well it’s Sarah, but I like the phrase)!
Well guys!!! I’m baaaack! It’s been a long while since I’ve blogged on the web…
…but I’ve got so much to say and finish and do, that I thought it was time to come back to you! <—cheesy rhyming
Aren’t you LUCKY (This is just the kick up the ass I needed)!
Once I have my pretty little blog sitting just how I want it, you can check back for the void in your lives just right here.
Don’t worry. I wont be long. x
